Summer Camp 2019

This summer we have multiple positions we are looking to fill to staff our Summer Camp. Camp will run from June 10 through July 26. Camp hours are from 8:30-3:00 each day with limited aftercare provided until 6:00 PM.

Each camp staff position will be responsible for the daily programmatic, relational, and spiritual elements of our Kid’s Camp experiences. All staff will provide instruction, motivation, encouragement to engage with each camper in an enthusiastic and supportive way, help to enforce the rules and policies of camp, and provide servant leadership and direction for others at the camp.

Camp Group Supervisor

The Camp Group Supervisor (GS) works alongside the camp director, providing critical leadership to the camp program. The GS will provide supervision to assistants, aides and other staff to ensure a safe and fun environment for each and every camper. All camp staff are integral to the daily programmatic, relational, and spiritual elements of our Kid’s Camp experiences. 

Education and experience requirement:

    • Bachelors in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field, OR
    • Bachelors with 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 years of experience with children, OR
    • Associates in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children, OR
  • Associates with 30 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 3 years of experience with children.

Camp Assistant Supervisor

The Camp Assistant Supervisor works with the camp Group Supervisors to implement the camp program. The GS will provide supervision to aides and other staff to ensure a safe and fun environment for each and every camper. All camp staff are integral to the daily programmatic, relational, and spiritual elements of our Kid’s Camp experiences.  

Education and experience requirement:

    • Has HS/GED and at least 18 years of age AND
    • Has 30 hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field, OR
    • 600 or more clock hours of secondary training which 400 hours is classroom training and 200 hours is supervised training in a day care facility, OR
    • 15 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children, OR
  • 2 yrs experience with children.

Camp Aide

The Camp Aide works under the guidance of the camp Group Supervisors and Assistants to implement the camp program. The Aide will work to ensure a safe and fun environment for each and every camper. All camp staff are integral to the daily programmatic, relational, and spiritual elements of our Kid’s Camp experiences.  

Education and experience requirement:

    • At least 18 years of age
  • HS/GED, or a minimum of an 8th grade education and 2 years of experience with children.

Summer Camp Ministry Intern

The Summer Camp Ministry Interns will have an opportunity to gain valuable experience in Children’s Ministry through deep integration in the planning and execution of The Philadelphia Project’s (TPP) Summer Camp Program. Interns will live and work in community with other TPP Interns who serve in TPP’s Summer of Service (SOS). Their primary responsibility will be the planning and execution of the daily programmatic, relational, and spiritual elements of our Kid’s Camp experiences.  The Summer Camp Ministry Interns will also provide support to the Summer of Service evening programs.

The internship will run from May 22-Aug 09. This is a support-raising position with housing and most meals provided.

Front Desk Coordinator

The Camp Front Desk Coordinator works alongside the camp director and other staff to ensure a safe and fun environment for each and every camper. The coordinator will host the central nerve center for camp, including monitoring drop-offs and pick-ups, answering the camp phone, monitoring the front door, and providing support where needed throughout the day.

We would like to fill this position as a 8 AM-4 PM position, Monday-Friday.

Education and experience requirement:

    • At least 18 years of age
  • HS/GED, or a minimum of an 8th grade education and 2 years of experience with children.

Aftercare positions

We are looking for Group Supervisors, Assistant Group Supervisors, and Aides to serve in camp aftercare from 3-6 PM. You can read more about the positions above!
