J-Term 2017

by The Philadelphia Project

After Christmas break we didn’t ease our way into the New Year we jumped back in, full steam ahead, serving with high school students from Westshore Christian Academy (WSCA) and college students from OneLife Institute (a gap year program of Lancaster Bible College) for two weeks. What a way to begin 2017! It was a preview of what God has in store for us this year!

WSCA spent their first week serving the homeless in Philadelphia, those whom our society deems the least, the lost, and the lowest and each afternoon they served our Fuel students who immediately clung to them with excitement and admiration. OneLife joined with WSCA during week two for a traditional week serving with our preschool, repairing 3 of our homeowners’ homes, serving at Fuel, remodeling the food pantry at Roxborough Church and continuing our efforts on the one day home of The Philadelphia Project. We are amazed at how much work they completed and how God orchestrated the entire week. We were blessed by the volunteers who came in to help lead worship, cook dinner, serve meals and lead worksites.  We thank God for the privilege to witness this group of high school and college students come together to pursue their faith in Christ.
