YL Intern – Interns, Programs & Partnerships

The Year Long (YL) Intern for Interns, Programs, and Partnerships will provide a critical support and assistance to the Interns, Programs, and Partnerships Coordinator. This YL Intern will have the opportunity travel to local and regional college campuses and conference to represent and promote The Philadelphia Project (TPP). This YL Intern will also have the opportunity to develop a strategy for online recruiting at TPP.

Duties and Responsibilities

Interns (45%)

  • Under the guidance of the Coordinator, assist to recruit, interview, vet, interns for the 2019 Summer of Service Program
  • Develop an online recruiting strategy for TPP that promotes awareness, generates leads, and becomes a new, reliable source of Summer Interns
  • In collaboration with the Coordinator, provide oversight and leadership of the interns for the during the Summer of Service program.
  • Serve as one of the points of communication between summer intern staff & Coordinator of Interns, Programs & Partnerships
  • Assist with evaluations for summer staff
  • Assist in planned activities for summer staff that help to build the ministry team

Programs (10%)

  • Assist with ministry sites, evening programing, and hospitality when volunteer groups are in serving at TPP from September-May
  • Work collaboratively with Coordinator of Interns, Programs & Partnerships & Worship Director to assist in creating and implementing an effective program during all service opportunities at TPP

Partnerships (35%)

  • Build meaningful relationships with youth pastors & college campus ministers to invite teams into the ministry of The Philadelphia Project
    • Maintain a regular presence at local churches and college campuses with a view to deepen partnership
    • Occasional regional travel, not more than twice a month, to churches and college campuses with a view to deepen partnership
  • Serve in a defined area of ministry with our partner church, TBD in collaboration with the YL Intern and the Pastor of our partner church
  • Assist in representing TPP during promotional events and conferences

General (10%)

  • Meet regularly with the director for Interns, Programs, and Partnerships, working to set and meet SMART goals
  • Participate in all staff meetings, training, and retreats
  • Raise full financial support


  • Maintain an active, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Maintain a positive, teachable attitude in all things
  • College graduate or equivalent experience
  • Experience and/or training in marketing with an emphasis in online marketing, preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate relationships in a professional and servant-leadership-oriented way
  • Ability to regularly travel locally occasionally travel regionally
  • Valid driver’s license, required
