Summer Internship

As a part of our team of “Yellow Shirts” you will serve in local churches and ministries to further their mission to impact their neighbors. You will lead youth groups as they grow in their understanding of service, the gospel, and love for Jesus Christ. You will build relationships with fellow interns, staff and local church families that will last a lifetime.

What you need to know:

When: Move-in May 28th, Move-out August 9th. (11 weeks)

Where: At our permanent housing site 7500 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia PA.

How much does it cost?: Our internship requires interns to raise full financial support. There is no cost to be an intern. All funds raised go towards your compensation up to the agreed-upon amount.

What is an Intern?

Our Interns are the face of our Summer of Service Program during the summers.

  • Lead groups of youth that come to serve with TPP

  • Worship and serve in a local partner church in Philadelphia

  • Serve in a specific ministry focus: Church, Construction, Kids, Mercy, Media, and Admin

  • Serve in daily programming including CLUB, games, worship, meals, and more!

What is Summer of Service?

During the summer we host around 100 youth participants every week for 7 weeks. Through service, worship, and fellowship, our prayer is for youth to move forward in their relationship with Christ. Youth are challenged to think critically about how God’s Word speaks to social and spiritual issues while offering a visible impact for hope and restoration to our community. 

We accomplish this through

  • Serving in ministry sites throughout the day

  • Bible teaching by local pastors and TPP staff

  • Worship led by staff and interns

  • Evening discussion groups

  • Games and activities

Ministry Focus

All interns will engage in a shared-core of ministry tasks and responsibilities. Each intern will have a special ministry focus in one the following areas:

Church Ministry

Serve at a local church guiding teams of youth in outreach, evangelism, physical labor, etc.

Construction Ministry

Guide youth in construction projects throughout their week at one of our homeowners or a church partner.

Junior Intern Coordinator

Lead our team of 3-6 Jr Interns (high school students). This team serves across all aspects of the Project behind the scenes and on the front lines.

Kids Ministry

Serve in a kids ministry at a local church guiding youth in assisting during camp ministries and/or VBS.

Mercy Ministry

Serve at other nonprofits and ministries guiding youth in working at shelters, food pantries, and other acts of mercy.

Behind the scenes

Media: Document our summer for all our media channels. Create videos, take photographs, and update social media. 

Administration: Work closely with senior staff behind the scenes and assist in all logistics, organization, and paperwork.
