A statement on Racial Injustice from our board of directors

The Philadelphia Project is guided by the knowledge that Jesus was passionate about loving the whole person. That means every person. From our inception, we have been inspired to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. God has led us to explore deep, meaningful relationships in the communities and neighborhoods that we have the opportunity to be in and to serve through our construction ministry, our children’s programs, and our mercy ministries. We regret that we, as a Board, are only now formally and explicitly lending our voice to the growing chorus crying out against racial injustice that has become entrenched in our communities, our nation, and our world. The Philadelphia Project condemns racism in all of its forms and affirms that Black lives matter. We are grateful for the opportunity to do the work that God has called us to do here in the city of Philadelphia, and we reaffirm our ongoing commitment to proactively seek reconciliation, respect, and mutual understanding in all that we do.
